Mushroom Substrate

41 Valley Associates
In 2003, 41 Valley Associates (Buster Needham, Manager) purchased 150 pristine acres at North Guernsey and Tice Roads in London Grove Township and submitted plans to build a massive industrial mushroom and composting landfill facility.  This facility proposed included the following:

  • 58 paved acres of the prime agricultural soils

  • 2 huge mushroom houses

  • Employee housing

  • monstrous water storage tanks

  • repair and storage buildings

  • a 50 truck station

  • nearly 1,000,000 square feet of steaming substrate and the stored products needed to make the substrate.

CFACE stood up to this proposal and the community rallied. CFACE hired legal counsel and was a party to the Conditional Use Hearings.

41 Valley Associates- Buster Needham of 41 Valley Associates has requested to be released from their agreement with Wilkinson Builders and the Township since Wilkinson is unable to purchase the DuBosq property as per the agreement.  The township solicitor has informed Needham’s lawyer that they cannot withdraw from the agreement.
